Pool of the Year Winners 2024

Winning Pool the Year is not just about aesthetics – though of course that's one of the key considerations. Other factors include innovative pool design, usability, materials, landscaping, and cohesiveness. So let's round up this year's Pool of the Year winners – and what makes them so special.

A Mirror to Infinity: Platinum Pool of the Year Winner 2024

This extraordinary infinity pool by Mayfair Pools Northland – Ultra Custom Pools has taken the Platinum crown with its stunning mirror effect and self cleaning system.

To craft that perfect reflection, water overflows from all sides of the pool and creates a perfectly flat surface that reflects the sky and surrounding environment like a mirror. The result? A show stopping visual impact.

But not only is this pool gorgeous to look at, it is also completely self cleaning with Paramount swimming pool self cleaning system! The ultimate in luxury.

To maximise the outlook, the pool sits slightly elevated with amazing sunset views over the Waihi Estuary at Pukehina Beach. For year round fitness and pleasure, both for Air BNB guests, owners, and the local surf lifesavers, the pool is heated with a Hot Water Heat Pump and covered with BMH Duokote cover. Love this pool?

For every stage in life: Silver Pool of the Year 2024

After doing their due diligence, this retired couple determined that none of the off the shelf pool sizes, shapes, colours or entrance steps suited their requirements or aesthetic.

They wanted to design the perfect pool and spa combo that would be right for their current circumstances – and still be right in 10 years time.

Mayfair Pools Hamilton & Cambridge guided them through the entire pool design and build process, and they are delighted with their bespoke pool. Equally perfect for their phase of life and for that of their extended family.

The Heart of the Holiday Park: Commercial Pool of the Year 2024

Also winner of the SPASA 2024 Commercial Project of the Year & Hotel/Resort Pool up to $500,000!

A resort-style coastal haven on beautiful Papamoa Beach. This family retreat at the Tauranga Holiday Park needed a focus for fun and relaxation for the whole family.

This massive commercial project – consisting of developing a new pool recreation zone for the Tauranga Holiday Park – was part of a Design and Build project by Watts and Hughes. To ensure a high quality finish that will last a lifetime on a freeform pool of this scale, Mayfair’s proprietary fibreglassing system – executed by Mayfair Pools Tauranga & Whakatane – was the perfect solution.

The design included the large freeform pool with incorporated splash deck for the littler guests, ramps, steps, and building in seating. The location of this development was in a central area of the holiday park which remained operational for the duration of the project.

After

Before

An old cracked concrete pool with crumbling plaster and drummy walls, needed a serious amount love from Mayfair Pools Marlborough.

The clients wanted a permanent product that would last for years to come. They wanted to retain the overall look of the pool and surrounds while upgrading to materials that would go the distance and require a lot less maintenance.

The skimmer needed to be replaced and the lights upgraded, fresh waterline and step tiles and new coping pavers. Installation of a heat pump finished off this refurbishment allowing the clients to add weeks to their swim season.

Kim Manunui

Hi, I’m Kim and I work with a great team to help individuals, as well as small and not so small businesses get their message, product and services to the world using digital media and creating wonderful websites that don’t cost the earth.

I was born in Canada, and grew up around Vancouver and the mountains of British Columbia. My love of pristine environments led me to New Zealand and eventually to the mountains, lakes and rivers of the central North Island which is home. My family’s heritage is here, and it’s from here that Korio traverses the planet.

The digital world is never static and neither are we.

And I say ‘we’ because I work with an awesome group of talented people who I gather together as required to complete a project.  Whatever your business, not-for-profit or individual needs are we gather the best team to get the job done.

Collaboratively we are creative, share sustainable values and work hard for great outcomes because that’s the buzz of satisfaction that drives us.

If you have an audience and market to reach, we can make that happen. Creative design, words that work and smart behind the scenes stuff that cuts through the online noise. We’ll design your website and then build it. We’ll manage the content as well as all your hosting needs. We can handle your online advertising so you get noticed,
and we’ll manage your social media presence so you get the clicks, likes and engagement to grow your business. All within the budget you set, because none of this needs to cost the earth.  And the job doesn’t stop when your website goes live. We are your virtual business partner.
